Every year, campuses across the country hold walks to prevent suicide, the second leading cause of death among college students.
On March 8th is the 4th annual UC Berkeley Suicide Prevention Walk, benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The event will include lots of amazing performers, speakers, activities, food, and more!
Check-in: 11:00 am
Walk: 1:00 pm
Where does the money go?
Proceeds will benefit both local and national mental health programs: 50% of the proceeds from the walk will support suicide prevention nationally and 50% will support the bay area chapter of AFSP, including programs right here at Cal.
Registration is free, but they're asking that each walker donate at least $10 upon registration, if possible.
Teams of at least 10 people that raise $200 or more by February 5th will get their name/logo on the back of our t-shirt!
Together we can end the silence. Together we can start speaking out. Together we can break the stigma.
